New FCI Automotive Connector Backshells to Protect Electrical Wiring

Harnessflex, the leading designer and manufacturer of flexible conduit systems and connector backshells for vehicle wiring applications, has introduced a new FCI Automotive Sicma external connector backshell.  The C108-90-FCS 2 is a 90º elbow swivel version that offers protection from the ingress of water, prevents cable strain and abrasion – all frequent causes of failure of vehicle electrical systems.

Designed specifically for use within commercial vehicle electrical systems, it consists of two identical half shells that clip together and is designed to fit Harnessflex slit and unslit conduit of various configurations.  Manufactured from nylon polyamide, the backshell has IP40 ingress protection and a nominal 120N pull-off strength.  It is designed for use with 8mm diameter conduit.

Also new to the FCI Automotive Sicma connector backshell range is the C125-FC 150 straight line, 50 way version.  Offering a similar range of features and benefits, it  is designed to accept large diameter conduit, up to 25mm diameter.
